to the league at
the January meeting. Birth certificates will be verified at that time. This
will be done by exchanging
rosters and birth
certificates with another coach and verifying all birth certificates match the
roster and that the
player is of legal
age. The league will keep the original copy of the roster and provide a copy
back to each team.
The
league does not retain copies of the birth certificates. Birth certificates do
not have to be originals. They may be copies.
7. Coaches Certification - Coaches must be certified through a program, such as NYSCA, Simply the Best, etc… Coaches must have the certification
before games begin in March.
Certification Update:
NYSCA now offers online Baseball
Coaches certification that will satisfy the coach’s certification requirement.
For $25, you can complete the certification online at https://www.nays.org/nyscaonline/ The online certification is a
combination of reading and video followed by 2 tests based on the content. The
videos are not required, but if you do choose to watch them, we have found that
they run slow. You will find that the tests aren’t real difficult and some of
the questions do require that you’ve read the material while other questions
may be answered using reasonable judgment.
